Chapter Executing the Project

The actual execution of any project is an exciting time for all as the execution phase plays an important rote. This is where all the previous planning and refinement starts taking shape. This phase clearly indicates that the necessary commitment has been provided to the project in terms of expectations, targets, and schedule. Project managers now need to realize that high quality deliverables will need to be provided from here onwards.

Something that the project manager should be aware of right from the very start of the execution phase of the project is that it is important not only to establish core project meetings with the management team, but also to hold frequent technical meetings with the development team to address the technical progress of the project. If this is not achieved, isolation from certain parties will surely lead to difficulties and communication problems later on.
