Developing The Project Schedule

Overeager new manager promises his boss a thirty-day schedule for a project to automate passwords on company's mainframe, midrange, and desktop systems. "We can't do that," desktop support pilot fish tells manager when he sees the project plan. The WBS identifies the activities and tasks that must be completed in order to provide the project scope deliverables. Estimates provide a forecasted duration for each of these activities and are based upon the characteristics of the activity, the resources assigned, and the support provided to carry out the activity.
