The recovery plan is intended to provide a clear direction for getting a project that has strayed from its initial approach and objectives back to where there is a means to deliver either all or part of the original project intent. It is designed to ensure that a direction is in place that can still provide some level of customer satisfaction with the project outputs. It may or may not be designed to return the project to the original plan. If the original plan is no longer reasonable or valid, the recovery plan may take an entirely new approach to the work.
